Job summary

Care Concern Group's Richmond House in Leigh is seeking a dedicated Chef to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals for residents. You will own food preparation and service, tailoring meals to dietary needs while upholding hygiene standards and safe food handling throughout each shift.

Working as part of a supportive team, you’ll help with menu planning and kitchen organisation in a role with no late evenings or split shifts, offering a strong work-life balance and meaningful, rewarding care.

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards.
  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
  • Experience in a professional kitchen environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive and reliable approach.

Responsibilities

Job description

Our 49 bedded home provides nursing care in Leigh and supports older people, younger physically disabled people and those requiring stroke rehabilitation. Richmond House is a purpose built home with a welcoming, close knit feel, offering a supportive environment for colleagues to develop their skills and provide high quality care across a varied resident group.

Chef Contract
  • Contracted on Bank
  • Paid [PVG/DBS], pension, uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
Role Overview

As a Chef, you will deliver high quality, nutritious and enjoyable meals that are a key part of daily life. This is a role where your cooking has real impact, bringing comfort, routine and enjoyment while supporting overall wellbeing.

You will take ownership of food preparation and service, ensuring meals are tailored to individual dietary needs, preferences and nutritional requirements. Maintaining high standards of presentation, hygiene and food safety, you will consistently deliver meals that residents look forward to each day.

Working as part of a supportive team, you will contribute to menu planning, kitchen organisation and smooth day to day service. With no late evenings or split shifts, this role offers a strong work life balance while still allowing you to take pride in producing high quality food in a rewarding environment.

What We Are Looking For
