Job summary

Riverford Organic Farmers Ltd is seeking a Relief Multi Drop Delivery Driver for the Warninglid hub, near Horsham. You will join a cooperative, employee-owned team delivering organic veg to around 70 homes daily, with a focus on kindness and reliability.

The role is permanent, 40 hours per week, typically Monday–Friday with early start times between 4am and 6am. Training and supportive team environment are provided, plus the company’s employee-owned benefits and pension scheme.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and access to own transport are required.
• Good knowledge of the local area to navigate efficiently.
• Reliability and punctuality are essential for on-time deliveries.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 70+ veg boxes per shift with care and courtesy.
• Be the friendly face of Riverford’s delivery service in the community.
• Cover driving rounds as a Relief Driver and adapt to new routes when needed.
• Potential overnight stays may be required for extended rounds.

Delivering even greener veg - We’re in the process of swapping diesel vans to electric, with the ambitious goal of being 100% electric vans for low-emission deliveries to our customers!

This role is a permanent contract, 40 hours per week - Working Monday-Friday, which is inclusive of Bank Holidays. Start and finish times vary, we usually arrive at the hub between the hours of 4am to 6am and finish when all of the veg boxes have been delivered.

Location: To support a healthy work-life balance, we kindly ask that candidates live within a 30-minute commute of our Warninglid Hub: Old Grain Store, Warninglid lane, Plummers Plain, Horsham, RH13 6NY

Pay: £15.54 per hour.

What you’ll be doing…

As a Delivery Driver at Riverford, you’re more than just a pair of hands on the wheel. You’re the friendly face of our veg box delivery service, bringing fresh, organic produce from field to doorstep. Each day, you’ll deliver 70 or more boxes, treating every one with care and helping us build strong relationships with our community of customers.

We’re looking for careful and responsible deliver drivers who know their way around a busy round and take pride in doing things well. It’s really beneficial if you have multi drop delivery experience, but we’re more interested in a calm head, a kind manner, and someone happy to muck in when it counts.

As a Relief Driver you be asked to cover driving rounds that you are unfamiliar with and travelling further afield as and when required, which may on occasion require an overnight stay.

You’ll be part of a supportive team that cares about good food, good farming and doing things the right way. It’s a role with real purpose, helping deliver the best of the season to people’s doors.
