Mail Sorters with Royal Mail

Whether you're looking to gain experience or take on a new challenge, this is your chance to be part of a team that helps keep the country moving.

Shifts are available any day of the week, from Monday to Sunday, and vary depending on operational needs.

All shifts are a minimum of 4 hours, with the potential to extend up to 12 hours.

We operate across three main shift patterns:

Early Shifts:

Typically start between 05:00 and 14:00.

Late Shifts:

Typically start between 14:00 to 22:00.

Night Shifts:

Typically start between 22:00 to 05:00.

Please note that shift times may vary slightly by location and role. Flexibility is essential, and candidates should be prepared to work across different shift patterns, including weekends, where required.

What You'll Be Doing

• Unloading mail and parcels
• Sorting items by postcode and moving them through the warehouse
• Working efficiently to meet tight deadlines - some teams sort over a million items in a single shift!
• You'll also be expected to handle election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.

What We're Looking For

• You don't need to have worked for us before (we love new people!), but experience in warehouse or sorting work is a plus.
• Enjoys working in a fast-paced setting
• Is flexible and comfortable switching between tasks
• Can push trolleys up to 250kg and lift mail bags up to 11kg
• Can stand for long periods during shifts

Pay & Shifts

The table below outlines the pay rates applicable for Mail Sorter roles within our Mail Centres and Parcel Hubs. The rates displayed are payable for the entirety of your shift where the shift description criteria is met.

Rates could be subject to change during busy periods, Angard staffing will communicate any change to your pay rates in advance.

• Day Shift: Starts and finishes between 05:31-19:59. Pay rate is £13.69 per hour.
• Dawn Shift: Starts between 02:01-04:00. Pay rate is £14.61 per hour.
• Early 05:00: Starts between 04:01-05:00. Pay rate is £14.17 per hour.
• Early 05:30: Starts between 05:01-05:30. Pay rate is £13.93 per hour.
• Evening: Finishes between 20:00-21:39. Pay rate is £14.38 per hour.
• Lates: Finishes between 21:40-01:59. Pay rate is £15.14 per hour.
• Nights: Three hours across 23:00-05:00. Pay rate is £16.44 per hour.
