Job summary

Gi Group is seeking HGV Class 2 Drivers for a leading UK Parcel delivery company in Bolton. You will safely drive company vehicles, load and deliver parcels to depots, hubs and customers. New passes are accepted for this role, and shifts start at 2200.

Rates are £17.32 per hour (PAYE, including advanced holiday pay). Applicants should hold a valid Class 2 licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, and be able to use mobile IT equipment to complete records and reports.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Category C licence (Class 2), Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Able to use mobile IT equipment, follow reporting procedures and complete daily paperwork accurately.
• Clear communication with supervisors, colleagues and customers.
• Understanding of safe and legal HGV driving, including Working Time rules and tachograph requirements.

Responsibilities

• Drive and operate vehicles in accordance with safety procedures and legal requirements.
• Undertake training as required, including Driver Induction.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform daily checks.
• Interact professionally with colleagues, customers and other personnel.
• Follow all reporting procedures.

Gi Group are looking for HGV Class 2 Drivers (New passes are accepted and welcomed) to work for one of the UK's biggest Parcel delivery companies.

The Role

As a HGV Class 2 Driver, you will be driving the company vehicle safely, load, transport and deliver parcels and packages to depots, hubs and customers.

£17.32 per hour

Key Responsibilities

• To drive / operate vehicles and equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and legal requirements and as required by the company in accordance with the valid licence, experience and training for that vehicle / equipment
• Undertake any training / instruction required to carry out these duties and or deemed necessary to fulfil the role (including Driver Induction)
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of vehicles and equipment to a high standard, including daily vehicle checks on any vehicle driven
• To deal with colleagues, customers and other personnel in a polite, responsible and professional manner
• To comply with all reporting procedures.

What We're Looking For

• Must hold a valid Category C licence (Class 2), Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Able to use mobile IT equipment, follow reporting procedures, complete daily paperwork and electronic records accurately.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors, controllers, colleagues, customers and members of the public
• Understanding of safe and legal HGV driving, including Working Time requirements, tachograph rules, official break requirements and company procedures.
• Knowledge of daily vehicle checks, basic defect reporting and the importance of maintaining vehicle roadworthiness.
• Awareness of health, safety and environmental requirements when loading, transporting, unloading and tipping waste and recycling materials.
• Experience of, or ability to undertake, physical outdoor work including moving bins, handling recycling containers and working in all weather conditions.
• Experience of waste, recycling, cleansing or commercial collections operations is desirable.
