Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust is hiring a Health Care Support Worker for Ward 2 Trauma at Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Join our busy Trauma and Orthopaedic Ward as part of the NHS family.

You will provide direct care, assist with daily living activities, maintain a clean ward, support with equipment, and work with nursing staff to deliver compassionate, patient‑centred care. Training and development opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient safety and report hazards.
• Deliver safe, compassionate care per Trust policy.
• Provide direct care: washing, dressing, feeding.
• Maintain bays and equipment cleanliness and storage.
• Report faulty equipment for repair.
• Report to staff nurse or ward sister.
• Maintain clear, patient-centred communication.
• Answer call bells and take appropriate action.
• Handle ward area cleaning and tidiness, including kitchen and storerooms.
• Use department equipment under supervision after training.
• Participate in annual performance review.
• Understand fire and emergency procedures.

We have Healthcare Assistant position in our busy and thriving Trauma and Orthopaedic Ward working at Stoke Mandeville Hospital as part of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust.

1. 1. Ensure the safety of patients at all times and report any hazards.
2. 2. Adhere to the Trust policy to deliver safe and compassionate care to our patients.
3. 3. Provide direct care and support with activities of daily living such as washing, dressing, feeding of patients on the ward.
4. 4. Participate actively in maintain the bays and equipments clean and tidy and correctly stored.
5. 4. Report faulty equipment in need of repair
6. 5. Report to staff nurse, nurse in charge, ward sister.
7. 6. Maintain a clear and costumer centered communication with patients and their families.
8. 7. Answer patient call-bells and take appropriate action.
9. 8. Answer telephone in the correct manner and take messages as appropriate.
10. 9. Assist in the general cleanliness and tidiness of ward area including kitchen, sluice and storerooms.
11. 10. Following appropriate training and when deemed competent, use equipment within own department at the direction of nurse in charge.
12. 11. Participate in an annual performance review.
13. 12. Understand the importance of fire precautions and is aware of hospital policy regarding emergency procedures for example fire, cardiac arrest and major incident.
