As a Reaction Hazards Chemist, you will evaluate the safety properties and operating envelopes of JM's materials including Platinum Group Metal (PGM) complexes, catalysts and processes.

This is a hands‑on role which will involve setting up a reaction hazards laboratory including calorimetry methods, thermal analysis, and dust testing. Subsequently, you will carry out such reaction hazard testing in support of JM's businesses; and advising businesses as to what testing is required and aiding with the interpretation and application of the data.

This role would welcome someone with knowledge of hazards testing within a controlled lab environment.

The role:
  • To provide support to businesses, JMTC and potentially customers in reaction process safety: consultancy on required testing.
  • Undertake reaction hazard testing, (such as calorimetry, thermal analysis, dust testing) in support of JMs sites, businesses and potential customers.
  • To collaborate with JM businesses (operating sites and technology) and JMTC on specific projects, helping to identify the relevant testing and support in interpretation of the results.
