Job summary

Colossus Recruitment Ltd is seeking a React Native Developer to build and maintain mobile apps and contribute to web apps using React/Next.js. The role involves delivering features for iOS and Android, integrating with REST APIs, and participating in an agile team.

The candidate should have 2+ years in React Native, Expo experience, strong JavaScript and TypeScript skills, and familiarity with Redux. Hybrid work pattern applies with 1 day in the office in the Birmingham area.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' commercial experience developing with React Native.
• Experience releasing apps to Apple App Store and Google Play.
• Strong experience with Expo.
• Excellent JavaScript and modern React knowledge, including Hooks.
• Working knowledge of TypeScript.
• Experience with state management (Redux).
• Proficient with HTML, CSS and responsive web development.
• Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs.
• Proficient with Git and modern source control workflows.

React Native Developer - React Native, React.js Typescript (Mobile Apps) Hybrid Working 1 day per week in the office

We're looking for a talented React Native Developer to join a growing development team, helping to create and enhance innovative mobile and web applications. This is an excellent opportunity for a developer who enjoys building high-quality products, working across both mobile and web platforms, and contributing to the full development lifecycle.

You’ll play a key role in delivering features for React Native mobile applications, supporting releases to the App Store and Google Play, and collaborating closely with back-end developers and fellow engineers to create exceptional user experiences.

The Role

As a React Native Developer, you will:

1. Develop and maintain features within React Native (Expo) mobile applications.
2. Contribute to React and Next.js web applications.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience

1. Minimum 2 years' commercial experience developing with React Native.

5. Working knowledge of TypeScript.
6. Experience with state management tools such as Redux.

8. Experience integrating and consuming REST APIs.

Desirable Experience

Any of the following would be advantageous:

1. Next.js or other React-based web frameworks.
2. Tailwind CSS.
3. Expo Application Services (EAS Build).
4. Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.
5. Experience working with maps, location services, camera integrations or push notifications.
6. Testing frameworks such as Jest or Playwright.
7. Monitoring tools such as Sentry.
8. Exposure to PHP or Laravel.
9. Experience working within Agile teams using Jira.
10. Experience leveraging AI tools to improve development, testing and productivity.
