Job summary

Novara People are recruiting experienced Reach Forklift Truck Drivers for a well-established distribution site in Castleford. The role involves operating a Reach Truck in a busy warehouse, picking and placing stock, and supporting goods in and out operations.

Induction and two-week training are provided before handling Reach duties, with a strong emphasis on health and safety. Candidates must hold a valid Reach forklift licence (D2 if applicable) and have proven experience in busy warehouse

Qualifications

• A valid, externally accredited Reach Forklift Truck licence is essential.
• If licence was obtained before January 2026, you must hold a D2 licence.
• In-house forklift licences will NOT be accepted.
• Previous Reach Truck operating experience is required.
• Candidates must be confident working in a busy warehouse environment.
• Confidence working at heights of up to 10.5 metres.

Responsibilities

• Operate a Reach Forklift Truck safely and efficiently.
• Pick and put away stock within warehouse racking.
• Load, unload and move stock around the warehouse.
• Assist with picking, packing and general warehouse duties.
• Support goods in and goods out operations.
• Check stock and maintain accuracy.

Novara People are recruiting experienced Reach Forklift Truck Drivers on behalf of a well-established distribution company based in Castleford. Our client specialises in the storage and distribution of a wide range of products, supplying businesses across the UK. They operate a busy warehouse environment and are looking for reliable, experienced Reach Truck Drivers to join their team.

Available Shifts

• 6:00am - 3:00pm
• 8:00am - 5:00pm
• 11:00am - 8:00pm
• 10:00pm- 2:00pm
• 12:00pm - 4:00pm
• 4:00pm - 8:00pm

Candidates must be available to work 40 hours per week. Shift patterns will be discussed during registration.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating a Reach Forklift Truck safely and efficiently.
• Picking and putting away stock within warehouse racking.
• Loading, unloading and moving stock around the warehouse.
• Assisting with picking, packing and general warehouse duties.
• Supporting goods in and goods out operations.
• Checking stock and maintaining accuracy.
• Following warehouse procedures and health and safety regulations.
• Maintaining a clean and organised working environment.

Initial Training & Assessment

All successful candidates will complete an initial two-week introduction to the warehouse before operating a Reach Truck.

During the first two weeks, you will:

• Become familiar with the warehouse layout, procedures and site rules.
• Receive training on picking and general warehouse operations.
• Complete a picking assessment.
• Gain an understanding of the company's health and safety standards.

You will not operate a Reach Truck during your first two weeks. Following successful completion of the initial training and assessment, you will progress to Reach Truck duties.

Uniform & PPE Requirements

• No hoodies or clothing with hoods.
• No joggers.
• Safety boots and high-visibility clothing are essential.
• Safety boots and high-vis can be provided by Novara People if required.

Induction Requirements

All successful candidates must attend a mandatory two-hour formal induction before starting on site
