Job summary

Lambeth Council seeks a Substance Misuse Worker for the Short Term Service – Families First Team in South London. The role is full-time on a 12-month fixed-term secondment, with a starting salary of £43,308 per annum and progression to £45,852 with annual increments.

You will provide rapid triage, harm reduction and brief interventions, connect families to treatment pathways, and work within a multidisciplinary team to reduce risk and improve stability during the 10-day assessment window.

Qualifications

• Experience in substance misuse support, harm reduction, or community treatment.
• Strong motivational and engagement skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide rapid triage, harm reduction, and brief interventions.
• Work with parents and young people to reduce risk and improve stability.
• Feed into risk assessments, safety planning, and STS multiagency panels.
• Connect families quickly to treatment pathways.
