A conservation organization is seeking a practical conservation worker for a large estate in the United Kingdom. The role involves working outdoors on various tasks to protect and improve land and habitats while supporting community engagement. Candidates must have conservation experience and be able to communicate effectively in Welsh. Flexible working and competitive benefits are offered.
You will work closely with our area ranger to carry out a variety of practical tasks and projects on Ysbyty Ifan, one of our largest agricultural estates. The estate covers approximately 20,316 acres of uplands within Snowdonia National Park, including the Machno, Eidda and Upper Conwy Valley valleys. It consists of 51 farms and 30 houses, with breeding sheep and beef cattle as the main farming activities. The land is of great importance for nature conservation, home to several rare wild birds, and many areas are under SSSI protection. The National Trust manages the estate to protect it from larger industrial developments and supports farmers in traditional, nature‑friendly ways. You will be part of projects such as the Upper Conwy catchment programme, wildlife and woodland management, and volunteer education initiatives.
You don’t need to have all of the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what’s possible in this role.
