The National Trust is seeking a Ranger for Stonehenge Landscape in Amesbury, Wiltshire. You will protect archaeology, habitats and wildlife, and help manage the grassland and heritage areas within the Wiltshire Landscape portfolio.
You’ll engage with visitors and the local community, share your passion for conservation, and ensure high standards of land management. Weekend, bank holiday and evening work is required as part of a full-time role.
As a Ranger, you’re a champion of nature conservation and the great outdoors, and you’ll play a crucial role in keeping the nation’s beloved countryside and coast in good shape, for wildlife and for people.
£27,612 per annum

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week. For this role you will be required to work some weekends, bank holidays and evenings.
Stonehenge Landscape is the base for the National Trust's South Wiltshire Property Group. Set in the Stonehenge and Avebury World Heritage Site, Stonehenge its known for its internationally important archaeology and chalk grassland restoration work. You'll be part of a team of Rangers that cover the whole of Wiltshire Landscape portfolio. From the southern team base at Stonehenge, you'll be supporting the Area Ranger in the management of the grassland and archaeology. We have some small, but interesting woodlands which we are busy opening up to make better for wildlife, heritage and people.
You’ll be helping to protect and care for archaeology, habitats, wildlife and machinery. You’ll pass on your knowledge and enthusiasm to encourage others to love this area as much as you do. Whenever and wherever you come across people, you’ll take the time to talk to them and answer their questions, rather than rushing away to the next task.
You’ll make sure that the conservation work and outdoor experiences on the land in your care are of the highest standard. You’ll build relationships in the local community, proudly representing the Trust and letting people know about the work you and the team are doing.
