Job summary

LA International is seeking a Performance SME for Mobile RAN to shape high-availability 4G/5G networks. The role requires deep expertise in UE logs, Acuver tools, and KPI-based optimisation, with a focus on 4G RAN performance and interoperability with Nokia and Ericsson equipment.

The position is London or Bristol, with 3 days onsite and 2 days work-from-home. Duration: 6 months. Rate: £ inside IR35. Strong data storytelling to justify network changes is essential.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in mobile telecommunications with high-availability systems.
• Able to define network performance & optimisation for 4G RAN.
• Proficient in KPI definitions, measurements and interpretation for radio networks.
• Able to analyse logs and traces (test or live networks) to diagnose issues.

Responsibilities

• Analyse logs, traces and data to justify network design changes.
• Define performance KPIs and measurement methodologies for 4G RAN.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear language for stakeholders.
• Lead data-driven recommendations for network optimisation and future readiness.

Job description

This role has a significant impact on shaping the Mobile RAN.

Rate: £ inside IR35

Location: London or Bristol 3 days onsite 2 wfh

Duration: 6 months

Technical Expertise

• Expert knowledge of UE logs analysis
• Expert understanding of Acuver UE logging tools.
• In depth knowledge of Mobile networks particularly 4G & Public Safety functionality over LTE/5G+ with particularly deep understanding design and operation.
• In depth knowledge of LTE & SIP signalling, PTT (push to talk), SRTP/DTLS troubleshooting & Optimisation.
• Excellent understanding of Nokia and Ericsson RAN products.
• Good understanding of 3GPP & ETSI specifications.
• Good understding of DTLS/SRTP protols.

Story-telling with data

• strong skills in building the case for change, drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to technical & business audiences.
• Ability to convert highly technical concepts into simple to understand language.

Forward thinking

• proactive approach to network design, ability to see beyond the current network and forsee what will be required to deliver networks of the future.
• Maintain high level of domain expertise, keeping abreast of the developments within the telecoms market, to ensure continued delivery to time, cost and quality in the face of both internal and external change

MANDATORY

• Extensive experience in mobile telecommunications industry in the role of a performance SME with business-critical, high-availability / high-throughput systems and networks.
• Able to provide technical solutions, processes definition for network performance & optimisation of 4G based RAN Macro network.
• Proven experience in defining and understanding KPI definitions, formula and measurements of radio networks
• Able to analyse in depth, drive test logs, wireshark traces and protocol analysers traces for 4G networks
• Good Knowledge of LTE parameters & timers.
• Familiarity with test software & devices (Nemo/TEMs/Accuver) & post processing tools (Actix).
• Experience of working with 3rd parties network/IT Suppliers.
• Experience of Nokia RAN.
