Job summary

GB Railfreight is seeking a skilled rail industry professional to oversee maintenance documentation, engineering standards, and change processes. You will drive compatibility activities for ETCS-fitted locomotives and ensure evidence across the project lifecycle.

The role spans collaboration with design houses, infrastructure managers and internal teams to deliver safe, compliant rolling stock. Based in Peterborough, London or Doncaster, the role emphasizes stakeholder engagement, KPI reporting

Qualifications

• Management experience in the rail industry.
• Stakeholder management with internal and external partners.
• Good communication across all levels and disciplines.
• Understanding of contracts, budgets, reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Maintain maintenance instructions and update with new technology.
• Review incidents and produce reports.
• Manage Engineering Standards and updates.
• Coordinate with asset/production teams on modifications and safety improvements.
• Lead Engineering Change projects and KPI reporting.
• Develop compatibility tracker and liaise with Networks Rail’s team.
• Ensure documents are prepared and submitted for compatibility.
