Job summary

Ferrovial BAM Joint Venture is recruiting a Rail Systems Integration Engineer to join the HS2 Track Infrastructure project during its initial design phase. The role focuses on managing interfaces, resolving programme conflicts, and coordinating design, access, resources, and logistics to achieve shared cost and schedule objectives.

As Rail Systems Engineer, you will support design interface management, ensure technical consistency, and drive RAM, system safety, and interoperability processes

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • Chartered or professional body affiliation desirable (e.g., IMechE, INCOSE).
  • Experience on major multi-disciplinary rail projects and design integration.
  • Proven ability to manage interfaces and assurance documentation in railway projects.
  • Knowledge of RAM, safety, interoperability and relevant regulations (CDM, CSM, RIR).

Responsibilities

  • Support management of design interfaces across Rail Systems, Civils, Stations, and HS2 stakeholders.
  • Ensure technical consistency, contractual compliance, and integrated assurance.
  • Maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and system-level specifications.
  • Coordinate interface resolution with contractors, designers, clients, and internal teams.
  • Attend stakeholder meetings in Birmingham and London; chair rail systems and civils integration meetings.
  • Support management of risks, changes, and technical/commercial issues.
