Job summary

Wabtec UK in Burton on Trent is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer (Mechanical) to work on Bogies & Wheelsets, delivering engineering solutions that enhance safety, reliability and performance.

You will produce and check technical documentation, support investigations, and collaborate with customers, suppliers and internal teams. Travel to customer or supplier sites will be required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in mechanical engineering with rail experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of design, testing and maintenance of mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in CAD and MS Office tools.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide system engineering knowledge and deliver engineering solutions for safety, reliability and performance.
• Produce and check technical documentation including instructions, specifications, reports and change orders.
• Check and approve drawings, EBOMs and customer TI/technical docs.
• Provide risk evaluation and mitigation evidence for safety hazards.
• Support investigations into failures and determine root causes.
