Job summary

Transport for London is seeking a Quality Inspector to carry out Goods Inwards inspection of safety critical and mechanical components against engineering drawings. You will use precision measuring instruments and perform final/in-process inspections to ensure compliance with standards.

The role requires interpretation of drawings, recording non-conformances, and carrying out internal audits in line with ISO 9001:2015.

Qualifications

• ONC in mechanical or electrical engineering or minimum five years relevant experience in engineering.
• Fully competent in using a wide range of precision measuring instruments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access).
• Knowledge of SAP would be desirable but not essential.
• Ability to operate a FARO arm CMM or equivalent would be desirable but not essential.
• Welding inspection experience and CSWIP 3.0 would be desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering drawings to ensure goods received are measured/tested to specifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments and techniques to ensure component compliance.
• Record and report non-conformances using software.
• Complete SAP stock transactions related to goods inward inspections.
• Carry out in-process inspections at hold points during overhaul.
• Inspect finished work on overhauled components/assemblies.
• Verify QA documentation is complete and accurate.
• Carry out internal ISO 9001:2015 audits.
