Job summary

Network Rail is seeking an operative to join the Maintenance team. The role involves outdoor work in a small group, supporting essential railway maintenance to keep the network safe and reliable for passengers and freight users.

The successful candidate will work safely, follow established procedures, and develop relevant competencies with training provided. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and a range of employee benefits.

Qualifications

• NVQ 1 or equivalent preferred.
• Good teamwork and basic communication skills are essential.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varies weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Carry out work safely and in accordance with the safe systems of work procedures, method statements or other instructions.
• Undertake work and associated duties for which you are trained and competent.
• Undertake work activities as directed, in a safe and efficient manner and in accordance with all relevant standards.
• Check that vehicles, plant, tools, equipment and materials under your control are fit for use and are used/stored and disposed of correctly.
• Contribute to your own development.
