We are recruiting for an experienced Duty Control & Operations Support Manager to help deliver safe, efficient and reliable train operations across the UK.
This is a high-responsibility, safety-critical role within a real-time operational environment, supporting traincrew, managing disruption, coordinating service delivery and providing essential frontline operational cover when required.

Important
- Full Shunter and / or Depot Driver competence (essential) This is required for operational coverage and safety. Candidates without this competence cannot be considered.
- Ability to travel nationwide as required
- Flexibility to work a roster including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver safe and efficient delivery of the train plan across rostered shifts
- Manage traincrew resources and adjust plans during service disruption
- Communicate clearly with traincrew, operational staff, suppliers and customers
- Maintain accurate operational logs and safety incident reporting
- Issue timings, notices and documentation to relevant staff
- Support the operational response to incidents, faults, accidents and environmental issues
- Maintain required route, traction and rules competence
- Prepare trains to a high safety and operational standard, escalating risks appropriately
- Provide cover for Operations Supervisor and Depot Driver duties when required
- Support delay minimisation and continuous improvement within the Control function
About You
- Experience in a rail operations or control room environment
- Full Shunter or Depot Driver competence (essential)
- Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong safety awareness
- Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast‑paced operational setting
- Committed to professional standards, performance and safety
