Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Night Operations Manager to lead and manage night-time cleaning across rail depots. You will drive safety, efficiency and service quality while coordinating staff across multiple sites and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities include staffing, rota management, training, reporting, and ensuring compliance with rail industry standards and depot rules.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in cleaning or facilities management.
• Strong leadership and communication abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure across multiple depots.
• Knowledge of health & safety regulations and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all night cleaning activities across depots to meet SLAs and industry standards.
• Coordinate cleaning schedules with train service plans and depot movements.
• Assign staff and resources to match nightly demand.
• Monitor performance and resolve issues like delays or equipment failures.
• Lead and support Team Leaders, Supervisors and Operatives across night shifts.
• Manage rotas, sickness, absences and holidays for coverage.
• Conduct briefings, toolbox talks, and performance reviews.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and staff training.
• Produce nightly and weekly performance reports and maintain records.
