Job summary

Carrington West seeks a Project Manager / Assistant Project Manager / Construction Manager to oversee a portfolio of fencing and minor civils projects on behalf of Network Rail. Based around Exeter, the role involves delivering multiple small works across the South West with a programme value of about £1.2m–£1.4m annually across 30–50 sites.

The ideal candidate will coordinate labour, materials and site activities, with experience in rail/highways frameworks and a hands-on, site-focused

Qualifications

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Experience coordinating labour, materials and site activities.
• Experience delivering multiple smaller projects, not a single large site.
• Full UK driving licence.
• CSCS and SMSTS qualifications would be beneficial but are not mandatory.
• PTS certification would be advantageous, although training can be provided.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a portfolio of approximately 30-50 fencing and minor civils projects annually.
• Deliver projects from initial planning and mobilisation through to completion, snagging and handover.
• Develop and maintain delivery programmes and schedules across multiple sites.
• Coordinate approximately 2-3 operational teams across different locations.
• Plan labour requirements and ensure resources meet programme commitments.
• Manage materials, plant and equipment with support from the wider team.
• Liaise with Network Rail, clients and subcontractors to ensure smooth delivery.
• Ensure health, safety and quality standards across all sites.
• Attend resource and progress meetings.
