An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Civils Design Engineer to join an established rail civils design team, delivering a variety of infrastructure projects across the network. This role would suit someone with strong technical capability who enjoys taking responsibility for design delivery, mentoring others, and ensuring work meets both technical and client expectations.

Role

You’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of civil design work within the rail sector, including:

  • Foundations and bridge fixings
  • Hard standings and access routes
  • Cable troughing and associated civils design
  • Preparing drawings, design reports, and technical specifications
  • Coordinating with other design disciplines and ensuring compliance with relevant standards
Key Requirements
  • Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Proven experience delivering civils design within the rail sector
  • Strong understanding of Network Rail standards and design approval processes
  • Proficiency with relevant design software (Civil 3D, MicroStation, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Chartered status (or working towards) preferred
  • Good communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
