A leading healthcare provider in the United Kingdom is seeking a Radiotherapy Specialist Practitioner Radiographer. You will be involved in providing specialist treatment and patient support, and ensuring the highest standard of patient care. The ideal candidate will have a BSc in Therapy Radiography, be registered with HCPC, and have significant experience with radiotherapy techniques and equipment. Working as a specialist with proven skills and experience inusing a variety of radiotherapy equipment and treatment techniques,organizing the unit activity and staff on a daily basis.
The post holder is responsible for performing with the highest standard of patient care and technical practice in their clinical area while treatingpatients

Specialistpractitioners are usually required to rotate through all areas within theradiotherapy service (unless the service requirement is for a staticplacement), and deputise for the relevant team leader as required. Thepost-holder is expected to use their experience in supporting and trainingother qualified professionals, trainees and visitors.
Specialistpractitioners may be required to make clinical judgments which fall outsideof protocol. They will be required to use their experience, specialistknowledge & initiative in order to achieve the expected results withinprofessional codes of practice, referring to their team leader or appropriateadvanced practitioners as appropriate.
Thepost holder is expected to use specialist knowledge to take action ontechnical and patient related issues on a daily basis in their allocated area(including amendments to treatments). They must be competent in a variety ofsituations, referring issues outside their scope of practice to their relevant advanced practitioners.

JOBDIMENSIONS
Theradiotherapy department delivers treatment care packages to approximately6,500 patients with cancer per year. As experienced professionals, specialistpractitioners are expected to maintain the efficient, effective and safe flowof workload in their clinical area.
Specialist practitioners are usuallyrequired to rotate through all areas within the radiotherapy service (unlessthe service requirement is for a static placement), and deputise for the relevant team leader as required. The post-holder is expected to use theirexperience in supporting and training other qualified professionals, traineesand visitors.
