Job description

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to work closely with the Radiology site leads and managers.

The Radiology department is looking to recruit an experienced secretary who can provide secretarial assistance to the Radiology Site Lead Managers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support to managers and leads in managing Health Roster, ESR, and day‑to‑day administrative tasks.
  • Manage diaries, produce documents for staff such as HR letters and minute‑taking for meetings.
  • Ensure staff are aware of outstanding mandatory training and adhere to completion in line with Trust policy.
  • Liaise with the Human Resources advisor to arrange meetings, prepare and share relevant letters with unit managers.
  • Arrange travel and accommodation for managers and designated staff members as required.
  • Travel between Trust sites (WGH, NSECH, NTGH/HGH) to support site leads and managers; provide cover when the other Radiology secretary is on leave.
  • Maintain and update HeRo, risk assessments, and other documentation in line with Trust policy.
  • Conduct advanced typing and transcription of clinical and non‑clinical documents (OCR 3 or equivalent qualification/experience).
  • Support management of all patient journeys, including target administration such as GP referrals, 18‑week RTT, and Cancer 2ww.
  • Manage resource ordering of supplies and equipment.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience as a secretary within a healthcare or similar environment.
  • Advanced typing and transcription skills; proficiency with OCR 3 or equivalent.
  • Strong diary and administrative management skills.
  • Excellent written communication and minute‑taking abilities.
  • Experience with HR procedures and training compliance.
  • Willingness to travel between Trust sites and support multiple locations.
  • Applicants who meet the Fit and Proper Person Requirements (FPPR) will require additional pre‑employment checks in line with CQC and NHS England statutory guidance.
