Job description
Overview

We are seeking an Investigation Officer to support BCU Radiology senior management and the Radiology investigations of complaints and concerns. The post holder will play a key role in supporting the Radiology Head of Quality and Governance and administering the organisation's arrangements for investigating and responding to complaints, in line with the requirements set out by the Welsh Government.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and co-ordinate concerns autonomously, ensuring consistent use of tools and methodology to aid resolution.
  • Maintain systems (databases, spreadsheets, business plans) to capture information and produce detailed statistical and analysis reports.
  • Support the Radiology Head of Quality and Governance in applying policies and processes to meet putting things right regulations.
  • Act as a point of contact for Services to support investigations into complaints, providing expert knowledge, templates, reviews of responses and facilitation of meetings.
  • Produce daily/weekly situation reports highlighting key themes and trends in complaints.
  • Work collaboratively with the Patient Experience Department to manage early resolution complaints.
  • Provide overarching business support (managerial, administrative, secretarial, organisational) to the Complaints Team and senior managers.
  • Work confidently and autonomously for the majority of the time without immediate guidance.
Qualifications
  • Experience dealing with stakeholders, patients, carers and the public in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication, advocacy and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to obtain independent clinical and legal advice and promote use of advocacy and facilitation.
  • Welsh speaking desirable; Welsh and/or English speakers welcome.
