Job summary

A leading NHS health provider is seeking a Radiology Department Assistant to support the Radiology Department with patient care and assist Radiologists in various procedures. Applicants should be GCSE qualified, ideally with experience in a clinical setting, and possess strong communication skills. The role includes flexible hours within a 7-day service model.

Qualifications

  • Care certificate is required.
  • Previous clinical experience in the NHS preferred.

Radiology Department Assistant (RDA)

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn is looking for hard working and enthusiastic individuals, to support the work of the Radiology Department; and to assist Radiologists and Radiographers in performing a range of Radiological procedures, including Ultrasound, X-ray examinations, Nuclear Medicine, MRI and CT.

The job is flexible and includes many varied aspects dependent on business need.

Please note that hours are worked within a 7-day service model.

Main duties of the job
  • To assist in all aspects of patient care within the Radiology
  • To assist with housekeeping duties e., cleaning specialist equipment.
  • To assist Radiology staff, this is very wide ranging, but may include: helping move patients, beds, trolleys. Helping radiographers to undertake radiographic procedures, assisting with moving and handling and helping to prepare patients for their examinations.
  • Helping book/cancel patient appointments as circumstances require
  • To collect and return patients to parts of the hospital if/as
  • Hours are worked on a 7 day service model and this may include night shifts.

Qualifications/training and professional development
