Your new role

Southend Council are looking to appoint a full-time Senior Workshop Technician in an agency / temp capacity to undertake repairs to all grounds maintenance machinery effectively and efficiently and to take control of ordering and keeping stock of all spare parts and machines.

The position will be based at Priory Park and does not involve weekends.

Key responsibilities
  • Provide machinery maintenance services.
  • Inspect workshop machinery on a regular basis.
  • Provide full maintenance records on request.
  • Be conversant with the use of ground maintenance machinery and cleaning of the machinery.
  • Knowledge of repairing and maintaining plant and machinery.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Mechanical qualifications.
  • Previous experience within a horticultural workshop environment and as a fitter / mechanic within a workshop environment.
  • A driving licence is essential and you must live local to the area.
