Job summary

Carbon Clean is seeking an experienced R&D Engineer (Thermodynamics) in London to lead solvent model development and validation. You will work with wet-lab specialists to design experiments, implement regression solvers, and advance solvent formulations through simulation practices.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD in Chemical Engineering with 2+ years of industrial R&D experience, proficient in Python and process simulation tools, and comfortable collaborating across UK, US, and India time zones.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering or related discipline with relevant thesis work.
• Minimum 2 years of industrial R&D experience; 3–4 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own solvent thermodynamic and kinetic models (activity coefficients, VLE, property and degradation).
• Collaborate with wet-lab teams to design experiments and support model validation.
• Implement solvers to regress large-parameter models to experimental data.
• Communicate results clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
