The Role

The successful candidate will work with an established team of tax and technology specialists to deliver expert advice on R&D tax credits, Patent Box, R&D Allowances, Grants, and broader Innovation Advisory services. The position offers the opportunity to lead high-profile client projects, manage cross-disciplinary teams, and contribute to the growth and success of a market-leading innovation advisory practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and review R&D tax relief claims, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HMRC requirements.
• Lead meetings with senior client stakeholders across technology and finance functions.
• Provide expert advice on R&D tax relief, Patent Box, and other innovation incentives.
• Oversee the preparation of technical and financial documentation for complex IT projects.
• Liaise with HMRC specialists to agree R&D claims.
• Develop strong, long-term relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Support business development activities, including proposal writing and client pitches.
• Lead and mentor junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.

About You

• Strong understanding of UK R&D tax legislation and its application within technology-driven businesses.
• Demonstrable experience in the IT industry, with the ability to quickly understand new technical concepts.
