Job summary

Convatec is relocating UK R&D activities from Deeside to Manchester, expanding capabilities in analytical R&D and quality control. The Scientist I will support physical testing, ensure GMP/GLP compliance, and generate data for medical devices.

The role emphasizes meticulous experimentation, data integrity, and cross-functional collaboration across EU/UK teams. The position is based onsite in the UK with potential occasional remote work, reporting to the Physical Testing Department.

Qualifications

• Graduate/entry level with familiarity of safe working in a laboratory environment.
• Experience in a working laboratory environment within Medical Devices/Pharmaceutical Industry is preferred.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform/plan physical testing to support R&D and base business projects.
• Design, plan and execute testing in accordance with procedures and guidelines.
• Develop and validate new physical testing methods.
• Estimate resources and time for experiments and monitor performance.
• Author validation protocols, reports and technical documents for medical devices.
• Perform basic statistical analysis of test data.
• Ensure data integrity and GLP/GMP/GDP compliance.
• Contribute to investigations and root cause analyses.
