Job summary

Travail Employment Group in the UK is seeking a R&D Packaging Specialist to lead packaging development from concept through to commercialisation. You will work with Operations, Procurement, Quality and Commercial to ensure projects meet timelines, budgets and specifications.

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Packaging Technology or Materials Science, possess strong project management and excellent communication skills, and have experience in packaging development, ideally in the food

Qualifications

• Degree in Packaging Technology, Materials Science, Polymer Science or related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Proven project management experience.
• Excellent planning, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in packaging industry and R&D or packaging development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage packaging development projects from concept through to commercialisation.
• Research, develop and test new packaging materials, formats and technologies.
• Coordinate packaging trials and evaluate performance, quality and compliance requirements.
• Create and maintain detailed project plans, time lines and documentation.
• Liaise with suppliers to source and assess packaging materials and solutions.
• Ensure packaging specifications, technical documentation and records are accurately maintained.
• Support business sustainability objectives through identification of innovative and environmentally responsible packaging solutions.
• Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure successful product and packaging launches.
• Monitor industry trends, legislation and emerging technologies relevant to packaging development.
