Job summary

PZ Cussons in Manchester is seeking a Product Developer in Research and Development to turn consumer insights into new beauty and personal care products. You’ll work across R&D, Marketing, Packaging and Supply Chain to deliver launches on time and within budget.

You'll bring a science degree and hands-on formulation expertise, balancing innovation with renovation while partnering with suppliers and cross-functional teams to ensure quality, regulatory compliance and rapid scale-up.

Qualifications

• A degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Cosmetic Science or related scientific discipline.
• Experience developing products within personal care, beauty or related consumer goods categories.
• Strong knowledge of formulation science, raw materials and lab-based product development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise personal care and beauty formulations that deliver outstanding consumer experiences while meeting quality, safety and commercial goals.
• Turn consumer insights and brand ambitions into effective product solutions ready for launch.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to keep projects moving on time and within budget.
• Support scale-up and manufacturing activities, helping products transition from laboratory to production.
• Build partnerships with suppliers and innovation partners to explore new ingredients and technologies.
