R&D Tax Manager / Leeds - Hybrid / £45,000 - £60,000 DOE + Benefits

Marks Sattin are delighted to be partnering with a Top 20 Practice to recruit an R&D Tax Manager to join their growing national R&D tax team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected practice offering exposure to a wide range of industries and complex, high-value R&D projects. You'll work closely with senior leaders across corporate tax, audit, and advisory teams, supporting innovative clients and contributing to the firm's continued growth in this specialist area.

The Role

As part of the firm's national R&D team, you'll manage a varied portfolio of R&D tax projects - leading client engagements, delivering technical excellence, and supporting the preparation of high-quality R&D claims.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and delivering R&D tax projects from start to finish.
  • Collaborating with senior colleagues across corporate tax, audit, and accounts.
  • Preparing and reviewing R&D documentation and reports in line with UK BEIS guidelines and HMRC requirements.
  • Conducting client interviews and advising on qualifying activities and expenditure.
  • Drafting and reviewing technical project descriptions for submission to HMRC.
  • Managing client relationships and identifying opportunities for additional advisory work.
  • Assisting with HMRC enquiries and responses related to R&D claims.
  • Supporting business development and contributing to new client proposals.
About You
  • Experienced R&D tax professional with a background in practice or industry.
  • Proven ability to manage an R&D portfolio and lead client projects.
  • Excellent technical understanding of R&D tax legislation and compliance.
  • Commercially minded with strong project management and leadership skills.
  • CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
