PerkinElmer in High Wycombe is seeking an Engineering Manager, R&D — Material Characterization to lead a multidisciplinary team delivering high-precision optical and thermal-analysis instruments. You will own day-to-day project portfolio, drive new product development, platform work and sustaining engineering, and partner with Systems Engineering to ensure robust design and execution.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Physics or a related technical discipline.
• Experience developing complex, high-precision optical, electro-mechanical or scientific instrumentation in an industrial R&D environment.
• Proven line management or team leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Track record of delivering products from concept through launch and sustaining support.
• Strong planning, communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsabilités

• Lead, coach and develop a multidisciplinary team of engineers across mechanical, optical, electronics, software and firmware disciplines.
• Deliver projects to scope, schedule, cost and quality; improve predictability through disciplined planning and risk management.
• Embed Design for Excellence and champion modular, reusable design across subsystems to reduce complexity.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Science, Systems Engineering, Operations, Quality, Service and Supply Chain to deliver successful products.
• Ensure compliance with quality, regulatory and product-development requirements.
