The Role

As an R&D Engineer, you’ll join a small, agile team of engineers and technologists developing next‑energy storage systems. You’ll lead experiments, design test rigs, and help transform cutting‑edge concepts into commercially viable products. This is a rare opportunity to combine academic rigour with practical application and your work will directly contribute to the UK’s net‑zero future.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing and running lab experiments to validate and improve product performance
• Building and automating test rigs
• Collaborating across R&D, software, and product teams to bring ideas to life
• Interpreting test data to inform design decisions and product improvements
• Creating CAD models and engineering drawings for prototyping and production
• Supporting the full development cycle from concept to commercial readiness

About You

• Degree‑qualified in Engineering
• Curious, proactive, and comfortable switching between desk and hands‑on work
• Confident with SolidWorks
• Familiar with, or keen to learn CFD tools
• Excellent communicator with a sharp eye for detail and a collaborative mindset
