We're supporting a market leader in the remanufacture of automotive electronic control units (ECUs) as they look to appoint a R&D Electronics Engineer / Technician to join their team in Heanor, Derbyshire.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing engineering business at the forefront of electronic fault diagnostics, working as part of a dedicated R&D function within a team of around 80.

About the Role

You’ll play a key role in investigating and repairing electronic faults to component level, contributing to the development of repair procedures and supporting the introduction of new remanufactured products. This role combines hands‑on electronics diagnostics with collaborative problem‑solving in a workshop‑based environment. You’ll be working across a wide range of automotive electronic systems, with access to modern tooling, test equipment, and rework facilities.

Qualifications & Responsibilities
  • Experience with electronic fault finding to component level
  • Proficiency in PCB rework methods
  • Interest in or knowledge of the automotive sector (professional experience not essential)
  • Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams and technical documentation
