A specialist Technical Construction Recruitment Consultancy is seeking an R&D Chemist for developing mortar, screed, and cement products. The ideal candidate should have R&D experience, knowledge of cement and concrete formulations, and familiarity with ISO standard certifications. This role involves supporting product development, troubleshooting production issues, and generating safety documentation. A relevant degree in chemistry or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support development of new and existing products and formulations.
  • Research and test new raw materials.
  • Generate Safety Data Sheets and Environmental Product Declarations.
  • Support in Quality Control (QC) testing when required.
  • Troubleshoot production issues.

The role of the R&D Chemist – Mortar, Screed & Cement Products will involve:
  • R&D Chemist position, dealing with a high quality manufactured range of mortar, plaster and render
  • Supporting in the development of both new and existing products and formulations
  • Researching and testing new raw materials and building strong relationships with suppliers
  • Generate Safety Data Sheets & Environmental Product Declarations using specialist software (training provided)
  • Supporting in Quality Control (QC) testing when required
  • Support in troubleshooting production issues
The ideal applicant will be R&D Chemist – Mortar, Screed & Cement Products with:
  • Must have R&D experience and be familiar with producing formulations
  • Must have experience dealing with related products such as; cement, mortar, screed, precast concrete, ready mix concrete, concrete admixtures, cement admixtures, chemicals admixtures, grouts and resins
  • Familiar with ISO 14001 & ISO 9001 standards
  • Ideally will be degree level educated in chemistry or related field
