Job summary

The Hills Group is seeking a Quarry Operative for its Cerney Wick site in England. This full-time, permanent role involves operating fixed and mobile plant safely under the Quarry Manager and performing maintenance as needed.

You will also provide cover for the Foreman or Weighbridge Operator during absences, ensuring smooth operations across Wiltshire and surrounding counties. The Hills Group offers a competitive salary and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience using mobile plant incl dumpers, loading shovel and 360 excavators in similar environments.
• Certified tickets for mobile plant must be held.
• Mechanical knowledge of mobile plant is desirable.
• Awareness of the Quarry Regulations 1999 is preferred.

What you will be doing:

• Operate fixed and mobile plant as instructed by the Quarry Manager, in a correct and safe manner.


• Carry out repair and maintenance work on fixed and mobile plant.


• Provide cover for the Foreman or Weighbridge Operator in their absence.

Requirements:

• Previous experience using mobile plant including dumpers, loading shovel, and 360 excavators in a similar environment, holding certified tickets.

Desirable:

• NVQ/QCF Level 2 (SPMO).


• Mechanical knowledge of mobile plant.


• Awareness of the Quarry Regulations 1999.
