Job summary

Tarmac is seeking a Quarry Supervisor at Wellington Quarry, Hereford, to lead daily operations, manage a multi-skilled team and ensure safe, productive performance. The role involves coordinating operators, plant maintenance and adherence to safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Located near Hereford, the role supports working with SAP, Fortek and Excel systems, with a focus on continuous improvement and strong safety leadership within a large national organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience within quarrying, aggregates, mining or heavy industrial processing.
• Experience supervising teams in a production/operational environment.
• Strong understanding of quarry operations and health and safety requirements.
• Regulation 8.1(c) appointment status (8.1d considered).
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to lead from the front and drive operational performance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate Operators, Fitters and Electricians across the site.
• Support the safe and efficient operation of mobile crushing and screening plants and other mobile equipment.
• Work with Plant Supervisors to maximise plant availability, performance and productivity.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards at all times.
• Complete administrative and compliance-related activities accurately and efficiently.
• Use SAP, Fortek, Excel and similar platforms in daily workflows.
• Support general plant maintenance and housekeeping activities.
• Encourage a strong safety culture and lead by example.
