Job summary

Tillicoultry Quarries Limited is seeking a Quarry Manager to lead daily operations at the Ryeflatt Sand & Gravel Quarry in Scotland. You will ensure safe, efficient operation of on-site plant, implement the Quarry Development Plan and meet production targets.

The role requires at least 3 years of management experience, strong knowledge of health and safety legislation, and a focus on training staff. A SHE NVQ Level 4 or equivalent and knowledge of Quarry Regulations 1999 and ACOP are preferred.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years’ experience managing and leading teams.
• Excellent awareness of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
• Completed, or working towards, a SHE NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent).
• Excellent understanding of Quarry Regulations 1999 and ACOP.
• Good understanding of plant and machinery, including maintenance planning.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily safety, maintenance and service checks.
• Safe and Efficient Operation of all the on-site equipment.
• Work closely with the Production Manager and follow the Quarry Development Plan.
• Meet site Productivity Targets.
• Integrate with and work as part of a small team; maintain SOPs, risk assessments and training.
• Managing and overseeing the safe operation of the Quarry and the planned preventative maintenance of all site equipment.
• Ensuring the Plant meets operational and production requirements.
• Proactively managing mandatory and development training of staff.
• Carry out additional Quarry Duties as required.

THE ROLE

Tillicoultry Quarries is a successful and fast-growing family-owned quarrying company and major supplier of aggregates, asphalt, ready-mixed concrete, mortar, render and sports sand to the building and road construction industry. Due to our continued success and rapid growth an excellent opportunity has arisen for a Quarry Manager based at our Ryeflatt Sand & Gravel Quarry. The successful candidates should be customer focused, reliable, well organised and be able to work well as part of a team in a busy site environment.

• Managing and overseeing the safe operation of the Quarry and the planned preventative maintenance of all site equipment;
• Ensuring the Plant meets operational and production requirements;
• Proactively managing both mandatory training and developmental training of staff;
• Carry out additional Quarry Duties as required.

WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU
