Riverlane in Cambridge, UK seeks a Quantum Error Correction Researcher (Simulation Development) for a mid-level, full-time role in the Research team. You will develop and productize classical simulation techniques for fault-tolerant quantum computing and QEC.
Collaborating with mathematicians, physicists, and chemists, you will design requirements for new capabilities, explore simulation approximations, and contribute to large-scale non-Clifford QEC studies and decoder performance.
Quantum Error Correction Researcher (Simulations Development) at Riverlane, Cambridge, UK. A mid-level full time position in the Research team, listed under research.
The salary range for this role is broad, as we are able to consider varying levels of experience. Any offer made will carefully take into account level of experience (including relevant industry experience), transferable relevant skills and previous relevant achievements.
We will also consider part-time applications for this role. Please indicate your preferred working schedule in your cover letter.
As a QEC Researcher (Simulation Development) at Riverlane, you will work on the development and productization of classical simulation techniques for fault-tolerant quantum computing and quantum error correction.
The team brings together mathematicians, physicists, and chemists, and works closely with leading researchers in quantum algorithms and QEC. A core part of the role is researching, developing, and documenting internal tooling to support the team for estimating quantities of interest in non-Clifford protocols.
This includes working with team members to design requirements for new capabilities for non-Clifford operations, investigating the accuracy, complexity, and limitations of simulation approximations, implementing high-performance computing solutions using best coding practices, and enabling large-scale studies non-Clifford QEC protocols and decoder performance.
Your work may include submitting novel simulator science to journals, working with internal and external partners on new software capabilities, working with open-source collaborators on multiple community simulation tools, and managing large numeric simulations.
You’ll collaborate closely with other QEC teams at Riverlane, including those working on logical operations, decoding and QEC code design across different qubit platforms.
