AtkinsRéalis in Leeds seeks Quantity Surveyors/Senior Quantity Surveyors to deliver varied projects across residential, education, commercial, and industrial sectors. The role emphasises pre/post-contract duties, Employer's Agent experience, and collaboration with client teams. UK travel and chartered status are advantageous.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent required.
  • Chartered membership or progression towards chartership encouraged.
  • Strong knowledge of pre/post contract QS duties (JCT/ NEC).
  • Experience as Employer's Agent desirable; UK driving license and travel willingness.

Responsibilities

  • Collaboration with client teams, leadership, PMs, and contractors to maintain relationships.
  • Cost management: estimate, monitor, and control project costs pre and post contract.
  • Provide regular financial reporting and risk updates to clients.
  • Procurement support and contractor/vendor evaluation and appointment.
  • Administer various contract types and manage change control and records.
  • Act as Employer's Agent, coordinating programme, cost, quality and risk.
  • Identify and mitigate commercial risks; support value engineering.
  • Mentor and supervise junior quantity surveying staff.

We are looking for Quantity Surveyors / Senior Quantity Surveyors who will be responsible for delivering work and are driven to achieve excellence. We are seeking personable, ambitious, enthusiastic, and energetic individuals to join our Cost and Commercial Practice in Yorkshire (Leeds), to support our continuing growth within the local market and beyond.



As an intermediate to senior member of the team, you’ll work closely with the leadership team to ensure commercial targets are met, risks are managed, and project controls are maintained. You will be working on a variety of residential, education, commercial, defence, industrial, retail, projects to name only a few, primarily in Yorkshire but also the wider UK. A particular emphasis on Residential and Industrial/Manufacturing experience would be advantageous.



Your role

We are looking for a well‑rounded Candidate with Pre and Post Contract experience.




  • Collaboration – Working in the client team and liaising with leadership, project managers, contractors, and internal teams to maintain strong relationships.

  • Cost Management – Estimate, monitor and control project costs both pre and post contract, to ensure the project is delivered within budget, validate and manage contractor and supplier costs & payments.

  • Reporting – Provide regular financial reports to ensure our clients have confidence in their project outcomes, present financial performance and risk updates.

  • Procurement – Undertaking procurement or supporting the procurement team in evaluating and appointing contractors.

  • Contract Administration – Administer various contract types, ensuring compliance with all terms and conditions, manage contract change reviewing validity, quotations and ensuring timely submissions and agreement, work closely with the Project Manager to maintain accurate and comprehensive project records.

  • Employer's'Agent – Act as the employer's representative, providing leadership and coordination throughout a project's lifecycle, managing contractual obligations, monitoring programme, cost, quality and risk, facilitating effective communication between stakeholders, and ensuring that project objectives are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with agreed requirements.

  • Risk and Value Management – Identify, analyse, and mitigate commercial risks, assist in value engineering to optimise project performance.

  • Support and manage junior staff in the delivery of quantity surveying services.



About You


  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar.

  • Chartered member of the RICS or other industry body or working towards chartership by end of next year.

  • Conversant in pre and post contract quantity surveying duties.

  • JCT, NEC, contract experience.

  • Preferably experienced in the Employer's'Agent role as well as the traditional quantity surveying discipline.

  • Curious, committed and dedicated individual who strives for excellence in delivery.

  • Residential and/or Industrial/Manufacturing experience is beneficial.

  • Full UK Driving License and able to travel across the UK as required for project delivery.

  • Predominantly based in the Leeds Office.
