They are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the delivery of their projects through effective commercial management, strong supplier relationships, and proactive risk and contract administration.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for leading all pre- and post-contract commercial activities. You will oversee procurement, contract management, valuations, reporting, and cost control to maximise project value and ensure compliance with company and legislative requirements.

Key Deliverables
  • Procurement and contracting with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Management of all commercial aspects of the contract.
  • Ensuring adherence to commercial policies and relevant legislation.
Main Responsibilities
  • Manage all subcontract processes, including procurement, measurement, valuation, and creation of robust subcontracts addressing commercial, construction, and programme risk.
  • Prepare and issue contractual instructions, notices, and orders.
  • Agree external valuations and manage project cash flow to maximise value.
  • Attend post-tender and pre-contract meetings.
  • Review contract documentation to ensure company interests are protected.
  • Produce accurate monthly reports such as CVRs, procurement reports, and progress reports.
  • Work collaboratively with the project team to optimise procurement, production, and commercial strategies.
  • Agree and finalise main and subcontract accounts.
  • Assess commercial risks and support the site team with mitigation planning.
  • Attend internal and external commercial review meetings.
  • Submit client valuations and manage the variation account.
  • Ensure full compliance with group commercial policies and legislation.
  • Maintain thorough document control through SharePoint in line with company information management policies.
  • Ensure high standards of data security and record keeping.
  • Uphold the company s vision and values in all professional conduct.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by senior management.
Experience & Qualifications
What You Can Do
  • Demonstrated experience working on industrial, high-rise multi-room, or retail schemes.
  • Strong construction knowledge with proven teamwork, discipline, and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to learn quickly and manage multiple tasks.
  • Proactive with strong organisational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Willingness to adopt new technologies and software packages.
