Fawkes & Reece London is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support highways and Section 278 works in Maidstone. The role focuses on commercial delivery, cost control and sub-contractor management within civil infrastructure projects.

You will manage valuations, variations and payments, monitor budgets, forecast risks and ensure contract procedures are followed. The contract runs until March with a possible two-month extension.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, highways or infrastructure.
• Experience with Section 278 works is highly desirable.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a project team.

Quantity Surveyor - Highways / Section 278 Works

Location: Maidstone, Kent

Rate: £400-£450 per day (LTD)

Duration: Until March, with a potential 2-month extension

We are currently looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support highways and Section 278 works in Maidstone.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially focused QS with experience in civil engineering, highways or infrastructure projects.

• Manage the commercial aspects of highways and Section 278 works.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and financial performance.
• Prepare and manage valuations, variations and applications for payment.
• Assist with cost reporting, forecasting and commercial risk management.
