Job summary

S Guest Consultancy Services Ltd is recruiting a Project Quantity Surveyor for a major refurbishment project in Wolverhampton. You will take commercial responsibility from start to finish on a 12-month contract, with temp-to-perm options and potential permanent appointment.

The role requires a proven track record as a Project QS with a main contractor, refurbishment experience in hospitality sectors, strong knowledge of JCT contracts, and the ability to manage valuations, CVRs and final accounts.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project QS with a main contractor.
• Refurbishment experience, ideally in hotels, leisure or hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of JCT contracts.
• Confident handling valuations, CVRs and final accounts.
• Degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying; MRICS desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Full commercial management of the project from start to completion.
• Procuring and managing subcontractor packages and suppliers.
• Monthly valuations, applications and cost-value reconciliations (CVRs).
• Managing variations, change control and early warnings.
• Cost forecasting and reporting to senior management.
• Agreeing the final account with the client and subcontractors.
• Working closely with the Site Manager and project team to keep the job on budget.

Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 + package

The company

Our client is a well-established Midlands building contractor with nearly 40 years' experience delivering refurbishment, design and build and framework projects across the commercial, leisure, healthcare, education and defence sectors. They've built their reputation on repeat business and a strong pipeline of work.

The project

You’ll take commercial responsibility for a major refurbishment running for around 12 months. The role is offered on a temp-to-perm basis, but our client is also open to a permanent appointment, with ongoing work available once this project completes.

What you’ll be doing
