Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement of subcontract packages and issue contracts.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports and valuations.
  • Track project variations and maintain cost records.
  • Review drawings and specifications for commercial impact.
  • Liaise with Commercial Director and Project Manager.
  • Chair pre-award meetings and support subcontractor performance.
  • Attend site progress meetings and provide updates.
  • Process interim payments and final account agreements.

Skills

We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Main Contractor on a long-term project in Cambridgeshire. This is a full-time permanent role offering strong progression opportunities and a competitive salary. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing commercial and contractual activities across the project lifecycle — from procurement through to final account. This is an ideal opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor seeking to work with an established contractor delivering high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage procurement of subcontract packages and issue contracts
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, valuations, and cashflow forecasts
  • Track project variations and maintain accurate cost records
  • Review drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities for commercial impact
  • Liaise with the Commercial Director and Project Manager regularly
  • Chair pre-award meetings and support subcontractor performance
  • Attend site progress meetings and provide updates on commercial matters
  • Process interim payments and final account agreements
Experience and Qualifications
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
