Freelance Quantity Surveyor – High Rise Scheme

Location: Leeds

Contract: Freelance / Outside IR35

Duration: 1‑2 months (potential extension)

Start Date: Immediate

We are seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join a leading construction contractor on a major high‑rise residential development in Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a landmark city centre project, working alongside an established commercial and project management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage all cost‑related aspects of the high‑rise scheme from procurement through to final accounts.
  • Prepare and assess subcontractor payments, variations, and valuations.
  • Support monthly cost reporting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Liaise with site teams, design consultants, and the client to ensure commercial objectives are met.
  • Provide accurate cost advice and contribute to value engineering and risk management strategies.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on high‑rise residential or commercial projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts and construction processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple workstreams.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Immediate availability.
