Position Overview

Elvet Recruitment is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to work on one of the UK's largest projects for an international, leading main contractor. This project, the first of its kind, is a truly landmark project for the region.

As Quantity Surveyor, you will oversee packages of work, managing all costs and income within your area of responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • Use the company’s ERP and Digital Systems.
  • Order information and systematically check data.
  • Measure, record and value work unsupervised in accordance with appropriate rules and procedures.
  • Prepare cost reconciliation statements.
  • Measure and interpret works information, specifications and drawings and prepare bills of quantities and schedules of rates.
  • Build up estimates from first principle including net and gross estimates.
  • Measure works and agreements with subcontractors.
  • Review weekly, monthly, section programmes of works.
  • Plan commercial activities to meet requirements of section programmes.
  • Collate cost and value information.
  • Understand the customer contract and undertake stakeholder management for your area of responsibility.
  • Understand delay and disruption programmes.
Qualifications
  • A construction related degree or HNC/HND.
  • The ability to use financial control procedures.
  • The ability to use existing information to value variations.
  • Understand and use contract programmes incorporating the whole of the works.
  • The ability to analyse the implication of various options.
  • Knowledge of construction programmes.
  • A sound working knowledge of the various forms of conditions of contract used for civil engineering projects.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and experience of contract structures and documentation.
Remuneration & Benefits

Remuneration: a salary of up to £60,000 (dependent upon experience) plus package. Smart working, giving you more flexibility such as staggered start and finish times, with up to 40% remote working where roles allow. 25 days paid annual leave (pro rata). Family‑friendly policies which include 28 weeks full pay for maternity/adoption leave and four weeks full pay for paternity/partner leave. Pension, share incentive plan, volunteering leave, recognition schemes.
