Quantity Surveyor - Faslane - Hybrid Working - Up to £57,000 DOE, Car / Car Allowance (£5,500)

First Task Professional is excited to be working alongside a Tier 1 Contractor who has an established track record delivering projects at HMNB Clyde. Due to an upshift in workload, they require a QS ideally with a background in NEC contracts.

Working on a long‑term framework, this position will assist in delivering cost‑effective, sustainable infrastructure solutions that support critical defence operations. You’ll be joining a dedicated and professional commercial team working in a highly secure environment. The role offers the opportunity to be involved in both Early Contractor Involvement (ECI) and construction delivery, contributing to the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of infrastructure projects.

Candidates must be able to attain SC Clearance for the role (Not a prerequisite to start.)

The role is paying a decent salary for the number of years experience, and is offering hybrid working and a comprehensive package to secure the right candidate.

The Role
  • Provide commercial and cost management support across the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with design, engineering, and delivery teams to identify value opportunities and manage risk.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate subcontract packages and procurement documentation.
  • Manage cost reporting, forecasting, and cash flow to ensure accurate financial control.
  • Support ECI activities, advising on construction, value engineering, and cost planning.
  • Administer contracts in accordance with NEC or similar forms of contract.
  • Ensure compliance with client and statutory requirements, including defence and security protocols.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and promote best practice within the project team.
About You
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Chartered (MRICS) or working towards professional accreditation (desirable).
  • Proven experience working for a main contractor within the infrastructure or defence sector.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC contracts, cost management, and commercial processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a secure, regulated environment (security clearance will be required).
