Quantity Surveyor – Residential Construction

Compensation: £60,000 - £65,000 (salary bracket only for this position). Hybrid working arrangement. Location: Dorchester (3 days onsite, 2 days remote). Benefits package available.

We are looking for a driven Quantity Surveyor with Civils or Groundworks background to join a landmark long‑term development project spanning over 30 years. The role involves managing cost control for new build luxury holiday villages and associated residential/commercial builds in remote locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Civils and Groundworks for new build developments.
  • Maintain financial control of projects from start to finish, including monthly job costing review and final accounts agreement.
  • Build effective relationships with other departments, subcontractors and construction teams.
  • Prepare and manage supply chain packs, ensuring stakeholders are updated and projects delivered profitably to the highest standards.
  • Oversee site based activities and remain onsite 3 days a week.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a Civils or Groundworks contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management, subcontractor negotiations, and site measurement.
  • Solid financial and procurement knowledge, including subcontractor management, valuations, and final accounts.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Self‑motivated with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
