BMSL Group is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join one of our established clients on a permanent basis based in Cardiff.

Salary: £60k to £65k, dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for projects, with a focus on new build, regeneration and fitout packages.
  • Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documents to prepare material, labour, and subcontractor costings.
  • Source, negotiate, and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Work closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and the wider commercial team to ensure estimates align with project requirements.
  • Contribute to tender submissions, value engineering, and risk analysis.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry pricing, supply chain trends, and construction techniques.
  • Attend site visits as required.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience as a QS within the construction industry, with strong project knowledge.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office (Excel in particular).
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to projects and offices.
